Explain any one feature of an Art which is available in management.

Answer – Art is the skilful, personal application of knowledge to obtain desired results. Management has all three essential features of an art.

• Theoretical knowledge exists: managers can study principles, techniques and experiences in a developed body of literature.
• Personal application: managers use the same knowledge differently according to judgement, experience and the situation. Two managers may motivate their teams in different ways.
• Practice and creativity: repeated application improves skill, while changing problems require imaginative solutions.

Management is therefore an art in its practice. Learning principles alone does not produce a successful manager; thoughtful application and experience are also required.
