What do you mean by 'Recruitment' ? Explain any two internal sources and two external sources of Recruitment.
Answer – Recruitment is the process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating them to apply. It is a positive process because it increases the pool of applicants; selection is comparatively eliminative because unsuitable applicants are screened out.
Internal sources: transfer and promotion. They use existing employees, reduce cost and support motivation, but limit fresh talent.
External sources: advertisements, direct recruitment, casual callers, employment exchanges, placement agencies, campus recruitment, employee recommendations, labour contractors and web publishing. They widen choice and introduce fresh skills, but take time and money.
For a response requiring examples, use transfer and promotion internally and explain any requested number of external sources. If three internal sources are requested, state that the prescribed main classification contains two; do not invent another category.
