Why is Mr. Herriot tempted to keep Tricki on as a permanent guest?

Answer – Mrs. Pumphrey first sent eggs, then wine to enrich Tricki’s blood, and later brandy. Tricki did not need all these things. Mr. Herriot and his helpers had a good breakfast with eggs. They had good lunch with wine and a grand dinner with brandy. So, it was a temptation for Mr. Herriot to keep Tricki as a Permanent guest.
